What is a Paint-Out?
A "paint-out" is a group
of Gold Coast members who paint outside in plein air at various locations
in the tri-county area.
For Wednesday locations contact Carol Thaw at 954-389-0374.
For "paint-outs"
during weekends, contact Nancy Herkert 954-252-0438.
What is in it for ME?
Lots of camaraderie and interaction
with people who love to paint AND perhaps an opportunity...
During the summer of 2003, as several
of us were "painting-out" on Las Olas Boulevard, we caught the
attention of a reporter/photographer from the Miami Herald. Plus, Carol
Thaw, our fearless leader, approached the promotion person from the Las
Olas Merchants association to find us a way to show and exhibit our work.
By October, we were in a gallery (a vacant store donated to us for one
month by the merchants association), with publicity from the Miami Herald,
a yummy opening reception hosted by Mangos Restaurant, and a huge opportunity
for the "paint-out" artists to sell our work!
